Real-Time Navigator Approach to Motion Problems in Coronary MRA
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper is a summary discourse on the real time navigator approach to suppressing motion effects in coronary magnetic resonance angiography. The concept of navigator approach, characteristics of coronary motion, design of navigator echoes for motion measurements, and navigator algorithms for motion effects suppression are reviewed and discussed. At the conclusion, an efficient and effective navigator method is suggested for suppressing motion effects in

Cardiac Fat Navigator for Real-Time Motion Gated 3D Coronary MRA
T. D. Nguyen, A. Nuval, Y. Wang University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA, United States SYNOPSIS Cardiac fat navigator detects coronary motion directly by exciting and sampling the epicardial fat that surrounds the proximal coronary arteries. The present study demonstrates that motion detected by the cardiac fat navigator at mid-diastole correlates with motion detected by the dia...
متن کاملECG and navigator-free 4D whole-heart coronary MRA
Background Cardiac and respiratory motion artifacts are major challenges to whole-heart coronary MRA. The conventional motion suppression strategies often involve prospective gating based on motion surrogates, e.g. ECG and navigator, which complicates scan setup and prolongs scan time significantly. To address these limitations, an ECG and navigator-free 4D whole-heart coronary MRA technique wa...
متن کاملBreathhold three-dimensional coronary magnetic resonance angiography using real-time navigator technology.
The acquisition duration of most three-dimensional (3D) coronary magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) techniques is considerably prolonged, thereby precluding breathholding as a mechanism to suppress respiratory motion artifacts. Splitting the acquired 3D volume into multiple subvolumes or slabs serves to shorten individual breathhold duration. Still, problems associated with misregistration du...
متن کامل3D Coronary MRA with 2D beat-to-beat translational and bin-to-bin affine respiratory motion correction using a golden radial image navigator
Figure 2 – Reformatted images showing the main coronary arteries of two subjects. Subject 1: 2D Affine + translational motion correction gives superior image quality compared to both 2D translational correction and a gated scan (with ~3x reduction in scan time). Subject 2: 2D motion correction gives similar image quality to the gated scan with ~2x reduction in scan time. Affine correction shows...
متن کاملSimulation Tool for k-Space Reordering in Free-Breathing Navigator-Gated 3D Coronary MRA
In coronary MR angiography (MRA) breathing motion during data acquisition may result in image artifacts. One solution is the use of MR navigators to gate to the respiratory cycle, but the use of narrow gating windows often lead to prolonged/time inefficient scans. Therefore sophisticated k-space reordering techniques 1, 2 have been proposed to reduce motion artifacts in free-breathing navigator...
